Announcements:
* As some of you will already know, one of our members was involved in an incident while competeing at the Ironman Cliffhanger. Daniel Hose, owner of Rally Offroad in Geelong, was injured when a radiator hose in the cabin burst, causing him some serious burns.
On behalf of the Committee and all of our members, we wish Daniel a speedy recovery, and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.
* Taken from the 4wd Vic website:
With the Federal Election a few weeks away, members should be aware that there is a real danger of the Greens getting control of the Federal Senate because of the favourable preference deal they struck with the Australian Labour Party. Simply put, a vote for Labour in the Senate "above the line" (which requires voters to number just one box for Labour on the large white ballot paper) increases the chances of helping the Greens hold the balance of power. In conjunction with the Combined Firearms Council of Victoria, we are encouraging our members to protect their recreation by putting Greens last.
* Bill Beggs and Rod Crowe reported sighting snow over the top of Mt Selwyn on the long weekend. Some good signs for the club trip an August. Thanks to Bill for the pictures.
* Anyone who has dvd's, picture cd's or similar that we can show at the next meeting please bring them along. It would be great to look over some old footage, and pictures from years gone by. It may even lead to a trip or two to some destinations that have not been visited by the club for some time.
* A trip to Fraser Island next year is currently being organised. This should be a fantastic trip, any interested parties should get into contact with Mark Radburn.
* Reminder that numbers and payment for the snow trip must be made at the May meeting.
